On March 5, 2021, Paul Vaughn and ten other defendants, including a pastor and two of his children, an aged survivor of the Nazi concentration camps of World War II, a retired police officer who decades ago became a conscientious objector after refusing to arrest fellow pro-lifers during a mass rescue in Las Vegas, NV, and other peaceful protesters participated in an abortion rescue in Nashville Tennessee.
None of the protesters assaulted anyone or damaged any property.
For their peaceful protest, the DOJ has vowed to pursue the maximum sentence possible (over a decade in federal prison) weaponizing civil war era laws against all eleven defendants. The government also carried out a well publicized early morning unannounced raid by the FBI at the home of Paul Vaughn meant solely to intimidate him.
